Just a few nights also I had a conversation with a couple of intelligent people who said that it is only right that all citizens of the United States of America support the George W. Bush administration since Mr. Bush was voted into his office as President by a majority of the people.
I was able to take their point, but responded back that what they suggest is: no matter what a person does once legally elected into office is…well, according to them, okay. As long as properly elected, all actions become right and just even if they include our President bending (and perhaps breaking) the laws to fit into his (and perhaps in future her) personal agenda.
I say no to that idea. It certainly sounds like a form of dictatorship to my ears.
When torture is authorized and then the word is bandied about with verbal hairs being split to determine what the term means there is a problem and I for one do not agree that all of us American loving citizens must support the current administration.
What say you?

Our Leaders be they political or religious have usually done something to earn our support and respect. It is up to them to keep it. I believe breaking the Law constitutes a breach of the faith I place in my leaders. I would amend to that the breach would need to be of moral turpitude (parking Tickets don't trip my switch). Our President has not sent us to war Congress did. Our President did not approve funding for the war Congress DID. Torture of spies and operatives captured during time of war can only be blamed on one group the Congress. Then vote in some person who will represent you and not go to war again.
I did not vote for nor, do I support Mr. Bush or his administration. They have lied on too many occasions. They lied to Congress, so that they could obtain approval and funding for the war. I also have a major problem with a Democratic leader who wants to turn our country, which was founded on "FREEDOM OF RELGION" into a "CHRISTIAN STATE". I am not a 'Christian". But I do love MY COUNTRY. Does that make me unpatriotic? Does it make me a terrorist? NOT IN THE LEAST!!!!!!! The majority of our Founding Fathers were not devout Christians. They would be appalled at what the Bush Administration has done to strike fear and hatred into the citizens of this country. I believe that the only thing President Bush and his Administration has accomplished while in office is to divide this country. We need to come together again and stand as ONE. That is the only way we can survive.
